Bugging me for over a year - same slow speed for Steam downloads

I can peak my 50meg at around 6.8/7.2 when im lucky on steam

I have had this problem intermittently using steam aswell

Yeah, I'm on Virgin ADSL and can only download at 60k/s now too

And I thought I had the worst connection in the UK with 175 kbps.

Try closing Steam, delete clientregistry.blob, and restart Steam. It will force Steam to update its server list again, and you may get a better server for you.

My virgin is giving me max 2.0mb/s on my 20mb line ,My region is set to UK if it helps
