Well decided to get a new machine again and feels like the options now are crazy compared to a couple years back. I have been over and over my choices and there's a few key pointers especially in pricing up a build that have left me still unsure despite hours of browsing articles and the like.
First off what I'm sure on - A 1080 at the core of the build, CPU-wise most likely a 6700k. Would want a fair amount of space, so probably a couple 3TB HD's on top of any SSD
Beyond that - And this is where I simply cant make my mind up:
Firstly is should I go 4k. Initially I was dead set on this but now I'm wondering I should still wait. Obviously even with a single 1080 this is likely very taxing for upcoming games and I now wonder if this money is best spent elsewhere. I am still running a 1920x1200 (I am a 16:10 Holdout - still mourning loss of this format) 27" screen, its capable but not earth shattering and would consider a newer non 4k screen if i thought it would be worth it.
Secondly - the M2 SSD's. Seems cool but possibly very overkill. Nice to have perhaps but again is this better spent elsewhere (IE on just a larger 500GB-1TB SSD for o/s and choice games)
So bottom line, any recommendations on the above and if so best build? I realise some of my questions are subjective and people may differ on the 4k answer especially but I would love to hear some views to help talk myself in/out.
Last foot note, may likely get OC to build this for ease so worth factoring into cost. Cheers all.
