Hello, i'm looking to make a gaming PC for about £300-400. I don't know much about getting compatible hardware, so any advice will be appreciated. I will not need a monitor. The rest i'll need, including the OS, preferably win 7. Hopefully this will be achievable. Thanks

Thank you for the suggestions. I want to play some of the latest games on about mid/high settings, if possible. I shouldn't need a keyboard and mouse, what would you suggest spending it on?

You won't be able to get much with that budget for a high end gaming rig, considering you pretty much need a full system. A decent graphics card to play medium/high on recent games e.g. 7770/7850 is near enough £100. Windows 7 is another £70

One thing I would say is, if taking the intel route. Get a cheap CPU like a G540 they are remarkably good for all but the most CPU intensive games, plus if you get a H77/Z77 motherboard this basically allows you to drop in a much more powerful intel CPU later on when you can afford it.

You might want to read reviews on AMD Trinity just so you know what to expect, but they really aren't meant for gaming purposes.

If it helps, I've got an Intel G540 paired up with a Radeon HD 7750 and I can comfortably play most games on medium settings on 1920x1080, and high settings on 1680x1050.
