Looking to get another 3+ years out of a build, the same as my i7 2700k + 660ti has given me. I'm currently working with the following:

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,820.33
(includes shipping: £14.70)

I've no need for an optical drive and the 512gb drive in the bundle should suffice until 1tb SSDs come down a bit and I can fit a secondary drive. At 1440p I dont see a need for SLI, shame as I'd love one of the SWARM watercooled monsters but the SLI would be wasted on me. The budget is flexible, for probably the only time in my life, so I want something that will last and give me reliable, quiet performance.

Are you looking for something to build anew in? how about a new case and a 980ti as others have said your cpu is still pretty powerful, and the only sensible choice for an upgrade would be a 5820k which wont give you a lot of gaming benefit

Thanks guys.

Several of you have mentioned the 2700k still being viable, and it's a rock stable 4.3ghz overclock so I do see that. It's fast enough for what I use the system for really (Lightroom, Photoshop and gaming).

So maybe this would make more sense, assuming I want to swap cases to make it feel a bit more 'new'...

The SSD is used for games storage only as I already have a 250gb Samsung SSD as a boot drive.

Only other question was whether to pay a few quid extra for a hybrid ti card; I already have a Corsair watercooled cpu and my pc currently is pretty much silent. Do the hybrids give much in the way of noise reduction or are they a bit of a gimmick?
