Haha even on Christmas Day @Tetras is doing god's work on here! What a leg end! Merry Christmas brosepth!
Nah @Tetras @mickyflinn @montymint are the GOATs on here! God's don't take days offI know I thought us lesser mortals would have a chance on xmas day
Happy Christmas, lads! Thanks for chipping in! Even on a day like this I'm being nagged by a relative to spec up a build!
Specs WITHOUT a GPU also needed as he's 50/50 on using the old one.
The thread title literally says "Build advice £800" holmesBudget?

Yeah I was just assuming he meant that £800 budget now can be fully used without a GPU, spec wise? My bad if not.If you read the post I quoted it sounds like the OP wants another build without a gpu. I would rather make sure im not wasting my time and his without knowing all the info (unless I have read it incorrectly).

No problems
Just need @Shampoo to qualify what he was saying.
With an extra £339 to play with I would update my above build to a b650/7600x and 32 gig ddr5 and maybe squeeze in a 2tb ssd
For his budget, I'd be inclined to recommended a 5800X3D/AM4/32GB CAS 16 3600mhz setup... I know it can't be upgraded further, but the whole just buy this now and upgrade it later costing you another £3-400 etc etc... Doesn't wash with me.The problem is a 8 core 7700 is £315 on its own.
Adjusted my Intel spec to remove the case and graphics card:Easy to misread, but the OP did say a spec without a GPU. I should have bolded that! £800 budget. Can push another 50 quid if it changes the game. Case-wise you don't need to spend too long on as I believe he's wanting to fit it all in a Fractal Design Focus G. As long as the parts get in there we're good. He's still using a BD drive so needs the bay that case has.
While the 7800x3d is the best gaming CPU on AM5 it's certainly not the best bang for buck. It's 25% faster on average in games than the 7600, while costing 80% more.
