Hello there!

I am planning to do my first PC build with RTX 3080 and i9-10900k. The other components I would like are 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 4TB hard drive.
Now... I have 2 problems, maybe 3 - first one is I don't know which of all the variants to choose. I see there are 100 different types of 3080s, 500 different types of RAMs, SSDs etc. I would like the best of the best but I am not sure which ones are they. Second problem is I don't know the rest of the components - which ones to choose. Is liquid cooling better (I think it is) but which one to choose for my build, which motherboard is the best, power supply. Do I need a sound card the best audio or that's only something in my head. What PC case to choose. I don't know nothing.

Could you suggest to me people what should I buy. A list of all the components I will need would be great great help. What instruments I need as well. Any tips for first time build etc.

Budget is around 4000 pounds

Thank you very much again and see you later!

Aorus 3080 master/Xtreme come with a 4 yr UK warranty , but they are 4 slot GPUs.. huge !!!

If your going intel, might think about 11700k and overclocking or saving cash and going 10850k and overclocking.
Or ryzen 5900x ... If you can get the stock !

Most important... Want you intend to do with the PC... And your monitor details !!!

I personally advise buying one of the prebuilt gaming PC's from OCUK at the moment, your GPU choice is a bit rare on the open market, and prebuilds are designed to solve potential issues with compatibility.

Given that you've asked about 8 different questions, I'd say that if you want to make an informed choice, to start researching the performance and QOL features associated with different products.
For the most part all the price of all PC parts is determined by three things: Performance, QOL features and brand power. For CPU's and GPU's best is fairly straight forward as generally faster is better, and faster is more expensive. The price often ramps up exponentially when you get near the very top, but price is something we all understand. I assume you get this given you've chosen the 10900k and 3080, some of the best in class components out there for CPU and GPU.

When it comes to motherboards, RAM, coolers, storage and cases there is some small amount of performance to be had, but QOL is more what you're paying for most of the time (quality of life). These are things which make a difference to your experience but are less impactful on performance.

As such I'd either recommend something like this:

Or spending more time researching / do multiple thread on which parts best fit your needs.

Hi man and thanks for the reply.
I recently came to the UK to live and got settled in finally so I have my setup already back home but I want to do it here as well and have even better setup.
Currently I don't have anything besides a laptop.
So to your questions - I am playing CSGO and Warzone mainly. And I will buy BenQ Zowie XL2546.

CSGO is literally ancient game and can't use much any cores.
And actually AMD beats Intel clearly in that game making Ryzen 5600X top CPU for older/lowly threaded games.
Really only thing in which Intel leads is in how much electricity it can turn to heat.

And unless playing only very limited number of (or only old small ones) games, for that budget 2TB SSD is starting point.
"Spinning rust" is for shoe lace budget PCs/slow media storage.

Especially if paying such horrible price from small old resolution monitor with TN panel. (for which good amonut cheaper GPU is enough)
27" 2560x1440 IPS/VA would be recommendation for even lot lower budget PC with "basic" 144Hz models starting from around £300.
And top models aren't that much more than that ancient BenQ for all the extra.

Also there's Samsung's Odyssey G7... But just with very heavy curve from marketing dropping their arse on it.

That higher resolution and bigger size would improve experience in anything, including non gaming use.

Do I need a sound card the best audio
For speakers use separate sound cards has little to give, unless one integrated to motherbaord suffers from EMI.
But if you can't fit more than stereo speakers, separate sound card has benefits by giving HRTF for any game.
If your head shape is clsoe to average with good headphones that gives vastly better immersion than stereo speakers.
Besides directionality there's also feel of distances.
For that headphone use Sound BlasterX G6 Creative has in B-stock for £70 would be very good for that price.
And depending on do you have noisy environment or quiet environment, something like Beyerdynamic DT770 or DT990 would be good headphones for gaming.

My friend you sound like the perfect customer for buying a pre built machine from ocuk. Tell them you want the best, mention you don't want a cheap psu and that's about it. They'll help you with the rest
