Sorry for long post. Been a while since built PC and feel like a lot has changed.

So bit of context. Upgrading from 2080ti & 3900x, which usually I would not upgrade so quickly but my daughter is due a PC upgrade so she is getting that (she plays 1440p) and time for me to get an upgrade... Use is gaming 4k and photo editing / normal work. I run 3 displays of this. A 4k, ultrawide and 1440p.

I am going full aircooled (moving from a full loop watercooled) build. So only concern I have really is with noise as I am used to just setting my 011 to static fan speed and not having any ramp up or down etc. Not sure if this is possible on air.

Couple issues I have had with current build; I have never really overclocked my current build mainly because even trying to get XMP profile working has been an issue, as I would get random crashes every couple of days with it on. Additionally most of my drives are still Sata except for the boot drive which was a 250gb nvme.

Things I am a little confused about on the below build is...

Case - Does a window / solid side panel impact noise of the case. I select the Fractual as it seems to do well in reviews for noise although I am not sure if the reviews I have seen make sense as they seem to use stock configuration fans rather than filling the case like you would do with some of the bigger cases. Would something like the HAF 500 / 700 be better for cooling / noise or anything else?

GPU - Anything wrong with OC card? it seems the same price as the windforce, which I beleive is normally a cheaper version? Anything I am missing here? Is there a better brand model?

Memory - is 32gb enough? with this being dual channel can I add another 2 sticks later down the road if games require more (believe 32gb is becoming more common now).

CPU - Any reason to get K vs KF? one is cheaper but can't see any differnce except onboard graphics

PSU - Does this come with the connectors for 4090? Is there another PSU I should look at?

Motherboard/HDD -- I am really confused the M.2 impact on lanes. Will 3 M.2 impact the GPU as it seems to be shared? I don't really see a reason to go with nvme 5.0 drives so assuming ones picked are ok?

Thanks for any help people can give. Again sorry for long post.

Memory: I think you need to tell us :D What are you using, on average, with your photo/work stuff? For games: it is fine.

CPU: get the K, you have a big budget and some apps can still use it alongside the GPU, plus it can come in handy for troubleshooting (video). The 13900K is probably overkill for your usage, but eh, if you can afford it...

PSU: no, I believe you need to add the Corsair PCI-E 5.0 12VHPWR Type 4 PSU cable kit, but I'm not particularly familiar with Corsair PSUs. If you buy something like the Toughpower GF3, this has native support.

Motherboard M.2 slots: No. The M.2 slots are not shared with the graphics card. Z790 boards which share lanes are usually ones with a PCI-E 5.0 M.2 slot.

Thanks for reply. I think what I am looking for is to get a beast without overspending for the sake of it.

I picked the 13900 as I saw some comments else where about bottlenecking with the 4090? Maybe I am wrong.

Also on the NVME drives is it worth paying for 5k read/write over much cheaper 3k read/write? Just seen a linus video saying there isn't much change for gaming loads etc?

Finally is it worth getting a more expensive motherboard? Anyone aware of any lists of features sites? Ideally I need bluetooth/wifi and enough USB ports but there seems to be big £ differnce between them that I am unable to see what more you get?

Its hard to say for sure without being given the links to the different motherboards to compare, sorry! But its usually pretty minor things overall, like the amount of SATA slots,or the amount of m.2 slots, or the inclusion of something like USB:C, go compare those things!
