Build Advice... not sure where to go next

hope everyone is getting into the christmas spirit...

wondering if i can pinch some assistance with my build, im not quite sure which way to go now regarding my current setup, i put a post up in May with my build and was advised my CPU probably is good for a year maybe 2 and yes i still havent overclocked or got around to putting my cooler on...

so it got me thinking with Boxing day sales approaching what i could get to improve or better my gaming experience, i keep looking at these ultra wide monitors, which makes me think then i need a 1080, then i get side tracked and look at i7's and by then i end up back to where i started where im not sure what to do to better my build...

currently i have

You could do Ultrawide gaming on a GTX 1070. I'd definitely recommend overclocking that 2500k though, amazing chips!

so your saying my GPU is probably the next in line to upgrade? if i go get an ultra wide monitor...
