Hello. So i'm building a cheap gaming rig soon and i'm looking for some PSU and GFX advice.

I;m trying to keep it in the £300 range and all i need is Mobo, CPU, Ram, PSU and GFX. So far i have...

AMD Athlon II X4 Quad Core 630 2.80GHz £76
Corsair Value 2GB (1x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Low-Voltage Single Channel Module £17
Gigabyte GA-MA74GMT-S2 740G (Socket AM3) DDR3 Motherboard £40

That's £133 so far. For the GFX i was looking at the 5830 for £120 and grab a 600w PSU for around £60. Anyone got some better suggestions?

You can save money by buying a PSU with lower wattage as your choice of components aren't very power hungry.

I suggest this for £37.99.

Also, as above, a 460 will perform better.

I wouldn't suggest putting that GPU on that PSU. For one thing it only has one 6 pin PCIE cable and the gtx 460 has two connections - which suggests that it is not design for such power-hungry cards.

I would strongly suggest spending the extra for the 520W antec - this is a much more powerful PSU which is more efficient and higher quality.
