Hi, I'm needing to buy a new gaming PC and as it's been a good 8 years or so since I last did this I have no idea where to start. I have a budget of around £1000-£1200 but I could push a bit higher for the right reasons. I am looking to get the most bang for my buck. If anyone could help suggest a build that would work for my needs I would be extremely greateful as I feel like I'm going to either end up spending more than I need or buying an underpowered PC if I try and do this myself from product reviews.
My needs/wants are:
- Preference for NVidia and Intel.
- I game almost exclusively Singleplayer in 1080p/1920x1080 and have no desire to push beyond this resolution.
- I would like to achieve a steady and consistent 60fps but again have no desire to push beyond this.
- My primary concern is future proofing so I can run current and upcoming titles at high to ultra settings while being able to run future games on medium to high settings for at least the next 3-4 years, longer with a graphics card swap out at some point.
- I am interested in being able to use current technology such as Ray Tracing etc... which my current rig just doesn't support at all. It's old enough it's not even able to support Windows 11.
- I have just purchased a new keyboard and mouse and am buying a new monitor soon as well so it's just literally the actual "box and what's inside it" that I need help with.
- Storage wise I do already have a SSD for my operating system and one for my games install drive but I could do with some more space so a large SSD on board would be good.
- Current rig has an ASUS Xonar sound card but it's faulty, so if it's still recommended to have a dedicated sound card this is a consideration too.
Thank you anyone!
