Hi,

Thinking about doing the following build along with a couple of (old) raptors in my dismantled gaming machine. I was wondering if the power supply will cut it and also whether the graphic card is worth upgrading. Will I get much benefit from an x2 4850 over the 4890? Is there an equivalent NVidia card that'll outperform these for the price?
TY!

I'd want a decent 550W PSU or more for a system like that.

Either go Coolermaster 620W, Corsair 620W or BeQuiet 650W and dont bother with the fans if your the limit of your budget (get them next time).

Not the limit, just want to get the right thing. I want it to be as quiet as possible, hence the better fans. Tempted by the Noctua CPU cooler for the i7.

Id stick with the 4890, the NVidia equivalent would be a 275, yeah the Noctua coolers are good, what case are you using? Id also recomend a better board with 6 DIMM slots, the UD4P or even UD5, and echo the thoughts re PSU

If you want the PC to be as quiet as possible, don't get a 4890. It's noticeably louder than any other graphics card I've ever used.
