Hi all,

I have had a go at compiling a list of components for my first build, looking for a upper mid pc for gaming, any advice you guys have would be greatly apreciated! overall budget is around the £900 mark including OS

Mobo:Gigabyte Z77X-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro Silver 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 670 OC Twin Frozr Power Edition 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express

Can you really get all that for £900?

With regards to the ATI GPU, is the actual support/drivers for them as bad as often portrayed? also, i guess the move to the new socket is so that i can update the CPU later on?

The AMD GPU are great and certainly worth the money. If a 7950 is only £20 - £30 more than a 670 grab it. The perform better overall.

Possibly (broadwell may not be coming to desktop) and the fact its a similar price and haswell is better performance.

A few pointers,

• The core version of that case is missing fans, mesh trim and a logo.
• The heatsink is crap.
• This RAM is cheaper - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-062-PA&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1387
• The the "EVO" version of the SSD is quicker.
