Hi there,

Been tasked to find a windows machine for a designer who works from Illustrator he's currently on a Macbook Pro (2016) but it's just crashing on him when in Illustrator. He has asked if a windows desktop alternative would be any better this would be great for us as we are generally a windows based company.

Been looking at specs but I just thought I would ask for suggestions we have a £2000 ex-vat budget but we are not looking for the cheapest option but more an option that will not crash and will be more than up to the task with his work.

Thank you in advance,

Ryan

seems those Mac Pro as dual core if they use the smaller screen :(

Adobe loves intel - core speed will help but new coffeelake are hex core units and up to 12 threads on i7 models- illustrator can use GPU enhancements but is limited

GPU performance enhancements let Illustrator pan, zoom, and scroll up to 10 times faster with 10 times higher zoom magnification (64,000%, up from 6,400%).

bit more on the above

https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2014/06/23/two-steps-adobe-illustrator-cc/

but seems user mac lacks the ability to enhance their work - if doing large complex works (unless they have 15" model but still basic GPUs

naturally if you want to make money off them, your always going to say YES- he'll get more bang for buck and performance from a windows PC haha

thats budegt sounds like someone use to buying high end Macs as well haha :D

theres a few mac pros out there , so if your able to find their model, should be able to do a like for like but with newer intel core! and prob spec in a 4K screen which would make multiple adobe programs a dream to work on then a 13/15" screen

****
got board , £1000 cheaper then 15" mac pro flagship.
6 core 12 threads vs 4 cores 8 threads
4.3Ghz boost all cores vs 3.9ghz
32gb 2400 hz vs 16gb 2133hz RAM
500GB NVMe SSD + 1TB sata 3 m.2 SSD vs 512GB NVMe SSD
GTX 1050Ti vs slower 560 Radeon

wrapped in one of the smallest cases there is! and would suit those use to imac mini designs
