Hi all,

It's been a long time since upgrading so I'm looking at taking advantage of Black Friday offers with the below build.

My questions are mainly:
  • Any better MOBO options for around £350 and below?
  • Any better memory options?
  • Any other advice? :D
Thank you!

nice build.
the psu been £139.99 for awhile now at another well known site. otherwise the new NZXT psu's have good write ups.. the 1200W C1200 atx3.0 is £134.99, or the newer atx3.1 version is £159.98(though even reviewer says just get the atx3.0 version as basically the same). It's basically on a par with the msi psu..pips it 1 place higher in performance, but irrelevant difference. only other mob i can thnk of is the x870 tomahawk for £265 slightly cheaper or the asrock X870E nova wifi, which is £320
other than that, some people going 64gb ram. I didn't, but some are. £195 will get corsair non rgb 6000c30, or the kingston fury 6000c30, £5 more if you want rgb, which guessing not
Fractal case isn't the deepest and can only fit a 240mm aio in top(for guide for size as you going air). Fractal brought out the XL case as a result which gives the extra length(so basically gives you 360mm capability in roof.. basically increases gpu length from 330mm(300mm with from rad) to 413mm(380mm with 33mm from rad)..so should give better airflow around bigger gpu's

so basically nothing wrong, just possible tweaks which you've probably seen/discounted. enjoy the build

Thank you! That's all really useful actually.

I'll have a gander at the NZXT PSU's and the ASRock X870E was the other MOBO I was looking at so will look a bit closer at that.

Reading a bit on the cases, some people mention the build quality of the XL isn't as good but guess it's a sacrifice for better airflow.

Ah interesting, I hadn't heard that. I'm not requiring USB4 for anything (yet).

Any B650E that you would recommend? The Asrock B650E Taichi seems to be most recommended but also fairly expensive?

I usually just recommend a board like the ASRock X870 Pro RS because they're price competitive with B650E and the Pro RS did decently (thermally) in HUB's X870 roundup. There are lots of owners of the Strix B650E-E/B650E-F here and the only complaint I'm aware of is the dodgy Intel LAN.

Cheers. Looks a great spec but would prefer a black mobo if you're aware of something similar?

In the end I've gone for the Asus ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming WiFi. Managed to pick one up for around £200 in a Black Fri offer.
It has:
3x M.2 slots
PCIe 5 support
12 USB ports
4 SATA ports

Amongst this group of MOBOs, the Gigabyte B650 Aorus Master does seem to be favoured but the price is a lot higher (almost double).
