Anyone got any recommendations for pc build between £500 and £600, will be used for gaming, word processing and programming, not really fussy on AMD/Intel or Nvidia/AMD, any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I don't need an OS, i just need some recommendations on the hardware :D

cheers man, i'm not too knowledgeable on the i5 and graphics card, what type of frame rates could i expect on games such as GTA, DayZ, H1Z1, you know what the kids are playing these days haha

DayZ is an awfully bad coded game, GTAV is going to be over 50fps minimum at 1080P with medium/high settings.

Haha yes DayZ is awful, pretty impressive how they have optimised GTA this time around though, consoles get rekt!

A different option.

2 games with this GFX card, overclock the PentiumK and then fit an i5 or i7 Haswell/Devilscanyon or Broadwell later.

But GTAV does scale well on multi core (4 core more) cpus very well when compared to i3s or worse.

You reckon the Pentium wont bottleneck the 970? Also will the next series of CPUs fit the motherboard and i'm not too knowledgeable on the next series codewords, chipsets and sockets and stuff

It will bottleneck it, its not going to be as good as the i5 in GTAV, even if you overclock it hard.

The next chipset is Z170 with a new socket and a new range of CPUs (skylake).

Any idea when they are coming, i'd rather have a brand new CPU series and shell out a bit more for it

Broadwell is first and these are for Z97/H97 chipsets and socket 1150 existing boards (many manufactures have released BIOS updates).

Skylake+Z170 is Q3/Q4 this year.

urghh, so long :( anyway cheers dude, i think i will just go with the i5 build and shell out a bit more for a 970 as a CPUs and DDR4 is going to be hella expensive

damn, thats amazing! but now i have another dilemma, FX 6300 or the pentium, i just remembered the 6300 is somewhat a cheap beast, especially since it has double the cores
