It's pretty mainstream i guess but..:D

Just wanting to know opinions, its my first build but i'm considering getting the guys at OcUK to do it for me, though they will require me to put on that CPU cooler and graphics card probably :D
850w PSU because i already own a 5870, but this core2duo just aint cutting it no more!

Would this build fit in Fractal Design r2 case? i'm worried about heat issues in the summer or in general, and with 5870's in crossfire, plus that CPU cooler probably won't fit?

Probably going to change the motherboard to an Asus P6T SE, theres a week offer on that too, a lot of offers in this selection heh, i'm abit worried the cpu cooling fan will be blocked by the heatsinks on those ramsticks though but as you said, will go for the OCZ Obsidian insted, though it doesn't have "XMP" does that mean i have to set the speed of it manually? or will it be 1600mhz at the rated timings? I intend to overclock or get OcUK to overclock the CPU to 4Ghz.

The motherboard will set the ram timings automatically from the SPD info contained within the ram.

The fsb is what determines the speed the ram runs at, I think its 1066mhz for i7, but I might be wrong.

The ram is stated to run upto 1600mhz when you start overclocking/messing with the ram frequency dividers.

Looks good but only thing i would change is getting a smaller ssd, as it will most likely only be for ths OS possilby a game or 2, then find some cheaper ram around the 100 mark then spend the cash saved from that on a watecooled cpu block or something, the corsair h50?
