Hey all,
My current PC is on it's last legs, must be around 10 years old now so I'm looking at a whole new build (max £1800), already have monitor.

I've been looking over some threads on here over the last couple days and have put together this system with GPU upgrade options down the line without the rest of the system needing upgrading i.e. going for 7800X3D instead of the 5800X3D

One thing i'm really unsure about is the motherboard if anyone can suggest anything better for the money?

Thanks for any input

What features do you need? That's one of the cheapest boards with PCIE5 graphics.

Are you using this for general storage?

What do you use the PC for?

If gaming, what resolution/refresh?

Ah, I did't even realise there was PCIE4 and 5 between the 650 motherboards, thanks for pointing that out. Also, would it be worth spending a little bit more for a 670 motherboard like this one - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus...ocket-am5-ddr5-atx-motherboard-mb-6ja-as.html ?

Yes that HDD is just for general storage, have some current HDDs that are fairly new I will be using aswel (SATAs).
PC does a bit of everything, also use it as a local media server, and would also like to get back into PC gaming, I gave up gaming on my current PC when the PS4 came out really, then got a PS5 afterwards. My current monitor is 1080p, but will be getting a 1440p when the PCs sorted.

Looks like a very nice system for £1800 TBH. The only slightly questionable part is spending £140 the AIO when a £30-£50 HSF would get the job done.
Agreed just stick a

They are good enough for all of AMDs chips .

I would used the saved £100 to upgrade the GPU to a 6800x and enjoy.

Thanks for the input, will definitely go for that assassin cooler, just been reading some reviews of it.

I see OCUK only have 2 available 6800xt cards, would it matter much which I chose from them? There's a few brands around the £500 mark on the web.
