Hi all I have created this build and was wondering what people think to it. I was originally wanting to go Micro ATX or Mini ITX but parts are limited on the website. Just wondering if anyone could do changes to it without losing the aesthetics I have gone for and bring the price down a little? Also the reason I have chosen the specific M/B is down to Bluetooth capability for when I would use a Xbox controller. I will be wanting to OC the CPU so if anyone can link me to maybe an air one that is suitable to the job I'm more than happy to swap out the AIO. Wasn't sure if I could go with a lower PSU also?

Also with this build if I wanted to could I drop one of the new Ryzen CPU's into it later down the line when they come out? Will the motherboard support that?

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,646.98 (includes shipping: £18.12)

Thanks

2700x + RTX 2080
500gb ssd
b450 AC also has bluetooth: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B450-GAMING-PRO-CARBON-AC/Specification
[edit]VRM of the msi board is also better than the gigabyte board in your spec above.

Pretty good spec from Tamzzy but an RTX 2080 is a bit OTT for 1080p/144Hz. A Vega 56 or 64 would save a load of cash, plus you get two free games with it as well (Three with the Vega 64). You would want a 650W psu though such as the Antec Earthwatts Gold or similar.

The Vega 64 is roughly the same as the RTX 2070 (GTX 1080) performance wise.

Thanks a lot Tamzzy I like the build. This is an intel build im thinking of aswell anything you could do with this to make it better at around the same price? Also my question of swapping to one of the new Ryzen CPUs would that be possible on the build you have created? Thanks

this isn't very good.

just means it'll last longer in-between upgrades. :P

Thanks Lee I had a Vega 64 in my old build couldn't get on with it with the tuning needed to get it running right I'm not very knowledgeable on undervolting it all seemed confusing to me the different results people were getting and I wasn't getting anywhere near them. So with that in mind I have decided to go Nvidia this time.

An Intel cpu will help push the framerate at 1080p/144Hz. You might as well go with the i5 9600K though as it is slightly newer.

The Antec Earthwatts Gold 650W is cheaper.

You can easily get a cheaper air cooler if you don't mind not having RGB. A BeQuiet Dark Rock 4 for example. You might need lower profile ram though for clearance.

Swap out that board as well as it is junk  The Gigabyte Z390 UD is much better for less. You can't overclock on H370 anyway.

Fair enough :)

Ok I was thinking an Intel build as I've heard they have the upper hand at 1080p gaming?
it's a combination, really...not only does the cpu have to be taken into account. the gpu too.
so if it was a toss up between a i7 9700k + rtx 2070 vs a 2700x + rtx 2080...
...then the 2700x + rtx 2080 would probably win out 9 times out of 10. by virtue of having that much more GPU grunt.

You should get higher frame rates with an Intel cpu over a Ryzen with the same gpu on a 144Hz monitor. Doesn't really matter for 60Hz. So a 9600K and RTX 2060 should perform better than an R5 2600 and RTX 2060 for example. Of course Ryzen gives you more for your money so as mentioned by Tamzzy you might be able to squeeze in a better gpu by going with Ryzen.

Ok thanks for the builds I will check over them and see which is the best to go with. Again Thanks for all the help. Just one last thing I keep asking with the Ryzen builds would I be able to swap out for one of the new CPUs arriving middle of the year on an AM4 board because if this is able, it could sway my decision to go AMD board and cpu.

going for ryzen with move to ryzen 3000 or personally wait to 4000 if having a 2000 chip, flagship X470 board. Entry X570 will and should beat 80% of X470 boards for vrm design. 12 core will push high wattage when overclocked , reason why **** as gone and copied ******** vrm design like for like pretty much haha
