Hi all,

So my PC is essentially the same as in my signature + windows 10 now and dual band wireless card.

I'm planning on getting a Steam controller and streamer shortly and wondered if there was any point in upgrading anything to get a substantial improvement in 1080p gaming conditions? I have no current plans to move beyond that resolution.

I can play the Witcher 3 and Project CARS close to max - maybe a bit reduced AA and a little bit of blur and depth of field effect reduced at very playable framerates. Not 60 locked but probably 40+ steady.

Is there a magic bullet, what would be the logical move. I wouldn't consider anything unless it was going to bring significant gains - but I don't want to replace the whole system either.

Cheers! :)

The system looks to be ok, prehaps having a dedicated ssd will help with the loading times but won't improve on game preformance. The 7950 is still a decent card for 1080 if you're upgrading prehaps a gtx970 would be killer at that res.

GTX970 seems quite a big increase! That might well make my shopping list over the next few months unless there's something new imminent?

I do have an SSD where I try to install my one or two 'big games of the moment' both Witcher 3 and CARS are currently on the SSD. Probably need a 2nd one.

(As an aside can anyone recommend a decent tool for moving installs (particularly for steam games) to other disks?)
