Hi All,

starting to finalise the rest of my build, i got anew case & PSU and need motherboard etc. Just wanted to check that these will all go together:


AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition "125W Edition" 3.20GHz (Socket AM3) - Retail

Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9)

with either:
Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H AMD 880G (Socket AM3) DDR3 Motherboard [GA-880GA-UD3H]

or the below (from a competitor as one above is out of stock)

Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H 880GA Socket AM3 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard

I'd be happier if i was buying everything from OCuk as i've had some bad treatment elsewhere. Is there anyway i could ask if these would come back in stock soon?
 
thanks, just posted a question, fingers crossed they might have some in stock soon....

also with these bits would this be easy to overclock? ( i know i'll need to buy a better cooler)
 
thats cool, once i get some more money i'll be buying a graphics card & cooler.

After reading a lot on this forum i'm still not sure if a H50/H70 is better than a high end air cooler when looking at the money. is something like a Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 as good??
 
Sorry one other question.

When i install the above stuff would i be able to just use my currrent hard drive? or will i need to do a fresh install of everything?
 
Hi again,

Got the CPU and OcUK have said they don't have a ETA for the motherboard, so I' still getting the memory:

Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9)

So now to rethink the motherboard:
i could get the same board from another supplier (Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H AMD 880G (Socket AM3) DDR3 Motherboard [GA-880GA-UD3H])

Or I could get the below, the main things i need from this iss a IDE connection, be overclockable and have either a inbuilt GPU or a really cheap one to add.

Asus Crosshair III Formula AMD 790FX (Socket AM3) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard [90-MIB8V0-G0EAY00Z]

with either of the following GPU's:
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4350 512MB DDR2 PCI-E Graphics Card Low Profile

Asus ATI Radeon HD 4350 512MB GDDR2 Low Profile PCI-Express Graphics Card

XFX ATI Radeon HD 5450 SILENT 512MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Low Profile Graphics Card

or this with any of the above GPU's
MSI 880GMA-E45 AMD 880G (Socket AM3) DDR3 microATX Motherboard
 
Thanks, would the Asus be a better overclocker for the future?

Also the reason i need a small gpu at the moment is that this will be my next upgrade. on that note would the Asus fit my current card - NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS (it says its a PCI express so i would think so)
