Well I finally have the money to get rid of my 8 year old single core PC. Thanks to anybody who has already helped me. This is my 99% proposed build. I say 99% as some people on overclocking forums have reported issues with the new Asus P8P67 motherboards. It may just need a bios update though? So I will be watching forums for a week or so to see which boards seem to work best with Sandy Bridge regarding overclocking. If I continue to see people reporting problems with the Asus boards I will be switching motherboard. The PC will be used for game playing, watching movies, video rendering, graphical work, listening to music and playing a midi keyboard.

My proposed build is

Coolermaster HAF X PC case

Asus P8P67 deluxe motherboard

i7 2600k processor

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

Megahalems rev B processor cooler

GTX 580 graphics card

GTX 450 graphics card (for physics)

ASUS Xonar D2X sound card

Western Digital VelociRaptor 300GB hard drive. I will be adding a SSD hard drive in about 3 months and moving the veliciraptor to a storage and back up drive.

Blue ray writer

DVD writer (from old PC)

Microsoft LifeCam Cinema camcorder

Wireless mouse and keyboard

Can anybody see compatibility issues with this build?

What wattage power supply do you think I will need for all this? I want to get a quiet power supply. The processor will be overclocked.

Re PSU, a single 580 system pulls 500W, so if youre only ever going to run single card then Id say 650W would be good to aim for, allow for OCing and a bit of headroom
However SLi'd 580 system pulls 850, so if you think you may add another later, then 1000W would be recomendation

Do you need the extra features the Deluxe model mobo offers over the Pro or even vanilla? If not you could save some money there

Cant see any compatibility issues no

Looks good, though the Megahlems doesnt come with any fans so youll need to add a fan or two if you go that route, personally I think the Titan Fenrir Evo is sufficient

I don't really see the point of getting a VR as a boot, especially not when it is intended as a future storage drive. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-238-WD&groupid=701&catid=14&subcat=768 For £140 you could get two 2TB harddrives. If you don't need that much storage, alternatively you could just get one 1TB performance drive and save the £100 and put it towards something else, either now or in the future.

Seeing as you will be running a Geforce 450 as well, that will add ~100watts.

I don't really understand why you want a quiet power supply when hardly anything else in your build is likely to be quiet. But these two should meet your criteria:
XFX Pro 750W Core Edition 80Plus Bronze £73
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-004-XF&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=
Antec Truepower New Modular TP-750 80Plus Bronze Modular £110
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-116-AN&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=

Depends whether you want a modular one or not. Unfortunately I don't know atm the length of the cables on either unit, so I don't know if it will be possible to route the CPU power connectors behind the motherboard tray without using extensions.

Thrifles has some good advice but I disagree with the PSU.

He'll be running 1xGTX580 + 1xGTS450 from what I understand so in that case I think a 750W + will be more adequate.
