My pc is getting slow on games
I7 950 @ 3.8
ATI HD6870
Cooler Master Silent Pro Modular 700W
Kingston HyperX Genesis 12GB

So here is the new build

Intel Core i5-4690K
Asus Maximus VII Gene Intel Z97
MSI GeForce GTX 970
Samsung 250GB 850 EVO SSD x2
TeamGroup Vulcan RED 16GB
Corsair Hydro H80i GT
SuperFlower Golden Green HX 750W
Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-Bit DVD
Phanteks Enthoo Evolv Micro-ATX Case - Gun Metal
Total £1,270

is this all ok ? what would you change ?

The only thing you need is a better GFX card, what games do you play, what resolution?

Your CPU is still good, you have plenty of RAM.

Do you have a SSD?

CPU is still good, you might be able to get a little more out of it.

But a new GPU would be a good start.

Buy a GFX card first and a SSD (I take it you don't have one) and if you are still not happy (unlikely) you can carry these over to a new CPU/Board setup.

Grab a GTX970 or R9 290/290X.
