Build Date vs Selling date?

Being realistic, if you purchased a brand new 'stock' laptop or notebook computer today, from a reputable company, when would you expected it to have been manufactured, or built?

Two months, four months, or eight months ago?

I have bought two recently, and am a bit surprised as to what I found!
 
I bought a new gaming laptop recently but I have to admit that I've not looked to see when it was manufactured - actually, I'm not sure on how I'd find that out to be honest!

...But yeah, I would hope that it was only made maybe 4-8 weeks before I purchased it and didn't sit in a warehouse gathering dust for several months beforehand.
 
Wouldn't fuss me in the slightest even if it was built 2 years ago as long as it's what I ordered.
