I have all of my PC parts aside from my 9800X3D which is not arriving at the earliest until 10 Jan.

I dont return to work until 6 Jan so I would like to build the entire PC and do a lot of anal 'getting the wiring routes right' so it looks as nice as poss.

However this will leave me installing a 9800X3d into an AM5 X870 motherboard after its in the case. Does anyone feel very strongly that this is a terrible idea? I have heard the close pressure on the AM5 lever is pretty high and Im a bit nervous of ****** up the motherboard if I press that home with the mobo just on its standoffs.

Do folks install CPUs in AM5 mobos which are in the case all the time or is this heresy?

Thanks @ED209 and @MeatLoaf, I will for sure be laying down the case for the CPU install and the GFX card will be out (Im only installing the GFX for fit check and setting up the anti sag bracket which comes with the LL EVO RGB)

Im not installing a big cooler, its a 360 AIO at top which I can fully prep ahead of the CPU going in.

The Lian Li O11d Evo RGB feels massive compared to my last case, so space doesnt seem an issue, soooo sounds like Im not doing something dumb then...
