It's based on Deneb just minus the L3 cache (like most Athlon IIs). And it's clocked higher (by .1). It is the same wattage (95w), but it has a bigger multiplier (15.5 vs 16). And it's cheaper. Basically it's an Athlon II 650. I don't know why they've branded it as a Phenom II.

I think you should get the higher clocked one, and as well mentioned above the multiplier is a little higher meaning overclocking by altering the FSB will get higher gains.

Well then you should get the cheapest/fastest CPU you require. Which is the 840 stulid linked to. It's cheaper than the Athlon II 645 and is clocked higher stock. Even if it is only .1 higher. It's still cheaper.

So out of these two Phenom II is better? For gemming and lots of apps open? (Multitasking)

ok good! As long as It can cope with that I need it for. Also the power supply.
I was suggested bequiet 530w by stulid, but was told that If i wanted to upgrade in the future to get a 600w. Should I go back to the 530w? or stick with 600w?

either is fine, the corsair does have nicer braided cables, more watts and obviously higher price.

but the last 500gb test at xbitlabs shows the 6gb interface to be of zero benefit.

the blue is a slower drive, so spending more for less is not a good idea.
