Hi,

A friend at work wants a system for her son, she has a budget of £300and already has OS, monitor, keyboard and mouse etc...

They just need a tower with all the gubbins, her son want's to play all the latest games but is not bothered about lowering the settings (being on a budget).

He mentioned COD4 as one of the titles so he needs an half decent gfx card in there to play it.

I told her about the MM section and maybe get some things second hand.

This is what i chose, can you do better?

You could change the case for an Akasa Zen to save some dollar, plus I would change the HDD to Samsung or Seagate, Maxtor don't have a good reputation.

WIth the saving upgrade the X1950 to 512MB :)
 
It isn't that much different but includes a better motherboard (which will overclock further), better Ram and arguably a better/more reliable hard drive. I've dropped the CPU cooler as the amount of overclocking you are likely to do won't overly extend stock cooling. :)
