Build for a Friend

A friend has foolishly asked me to build him a PC so Ive come for help finding the right parts the PC will be used mainly for Gaming (MMO's & RPG's) He hasnt given me a Budget but I know money is tight for him (which is probably why hes asked me to build it ) I recently replaced my SSD So I can give him my old Samsung 830 SSD to save some cash, also he already has Win7

Edit: just the Base Unit, no keyboard, mouse, monitor (thx stulid)

Without an estimated budget, I wouldn't know where to start.

AMD route if his budget is really tight or an i5/280 looks promising.
