I'd forget the 900 if I were you. Dust is a nightmare. I had to make some makeshift dust filters for it to keep the dust out in our core2 rig.

I'd at least get the 902 or I can personally vouch for the Lancool K62s- decent cable management, dust filtered and its windowed.

yeah gonna change case to this, also dropped the 6850 for a 1gb 460
 
psu is overkill a quality 430w/500w would power that system fine.
case if he wants a window wat about the CM scout or the CM 430 + 500w psu deal for £62
and get a p55 board. with the savings maybe up the gpu to gtx 470/hd6870

+1 on overkill PSU.

+1 for CM430 with 500W PSU.

+1 for P55 board, H55 chipsets (especially the UD2H) tend not to be able to cope with higher overclocks and can indeed melt?

Bad idea, HD6850 tends to get better fps in the newer games - that and the fact the mobo's you'll likely be looking at will have CF support but not SLI, meaning that with an HD6850 you can easily add another at a later date for awesome performance increase - which you can't do with a GTX460 :p
