Hello,

I am looking to having a new build for gaming. Budget could be stretched to £800, however I would ideally like to keep it around £700 unless the performance gain is significant enough to add the extra cost. I do not require a monitor, case, peripherals or psu.

My current build is rather old now, is it worth keeping these current components to use?
CPU Intel Core i5 760 @ 2.80GHz
Lynnfield 45nm Technology

Motherboard ASUSTeK Computer INC. P7P55D LE (LGA1156)

Thanks for the time and help.

Welcome :)

What PSU will you be reusing, and what case?
What also is the rest of the specs of the current system? I think with just a new GPU, SSD and possibly PSU if needed you could refresh your current system

Hi and welcome.

Can you tell me your full current specs (all drives, Cooler, RAM amount+speed etc) and what OS you have?

Also what resolution is your monitor?

This is the full spec list.

Keep that PSU then.

Not sure about the cooler, it says it fits 1150, so get new paste unless you want a new one.

Your case looks like it can take a GTX970 but can you measure the space from the rear slot to the HDD cage?

I found the answer to my own question, you have 250mm of space for GFX cards.

So that rules quite a few out then.

I also just seen what monitor you have so I would suggest getting a 24" 1080P with a 1ms response time for gaming.

Hello again,

Thanks for the replies. Apologies I should have mentioned about the monitor, a relative is going to give me his BenQ RL2455HM.

If I were to get a new case to fit the infin8 is there a particular one you would recommend? Or is there not a big difference with the zotac to be worth buying a new case.

This is a good case for the money and has three included fans and speed controllers.

Or did you want one with a side window?

But no space for any external drives so if you needed a DVD drive it would have to be external.

No problem:)

Dont forget new thermal paste to attach your existing cooler, something like PK-2/3 will do you.
