Build for nephews to go with 980ti

Hi,

I’m not up to date with current offerings from AMD (not to say it has to be AMD)

I’m looking to build something for my nephews for around £300-£400 without GPU and storage. They need something for school and general use (if they could play some basic games until they get a GPU that would be a plus) but will be donating a 980ti for 1080p 60hz gaming at a later date.

They’re young so RGB will go down well.

No monitor, KB or mouse needed.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I would sugest an ssd sp much faster than mormal hard drivr. the cpu has integrated graphics which is good for 720p gaming but out of stock.

No problem I did notice.

Looks good I heard about the new AMD processors coming out but after having a quick look I see they’re much higher end. Looking up 3200G seems to be a good choice. It’s been a long time since buying the 980ti I’m giving them so not sure on power consumptions but I’m assuming a 550w PSU would be suitable?

Matx is a good shout too. However that particular motherboard has a pretty bad review. I’m not typically a fan of Gigabyte having a few issues with intel boards in the past and that review puts me off even more. Any substitute you’d recommend?

980ti is 250w draw so should be ok , msi motherboard would normally my first choice but I was trying to save money.

Apologies, I didn't realise as the motherboard photo appears to have a HDMI/Display port on it (in fact, it does: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MAG-B550M-BAZOOKA/Specification but after reading the CPU list I'm guessing it wants a PRO 4350G as a minimum).

GPU I could help out with, if someone can point me to the direction of the "MM" (assuming members market?) section? The only issue is that the GPU is older than the 980ti OP has (by two years; no wonder it was using low settings in the game I was playing which forced me to get the rig I have today).

I'm strugging to find a B550 with WiFI in for that offer I linked to earlier.

All depends on how far away from the router the room is and how strong the WiFi is.

Plug master one using network cable into the router, then plug the other on in and use a network cable from the extender to the PC.

It does however reply on how the electrical wiring of your home is (hence why I wouldn't normally recommend these - they can cause a fair amount of latency)

Just run a long cable and route it neatly around doors and walls. Use a mallet and chisel to create channels in the door frames to go through doors.

They actually just had a large extension put on however no ethernet cables were run unfortunately, I'm thinking just a PCI Wi-Fi card will suffice (not like they are competing in FPS and they can always find another solution if they find the latency too much.

I'm probably going to go with @mickyflinn suggestions but looking to go with the following motherboard just because I have never experienced any issues with the 5 Asus boards I have owned.

My only concern is the memory: it isn't on the QVL list so if there is an issue Asus will start saying "no support until you sort out that memory" - there's been a couple of threads that I have looked at and they both have had the pretty same response.
