Hi all I have chucked this basket together, if anyone could advise on better parts for similar cost I would be grateful. Also can I ask what fans and cables I'll be needing too 2k budget thanks.
My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,704.84 (includes delivery: £0.00)

Overpaying for Asus stuff which are normally overpriced and also have worse features for the same money in comparison to other manufacturers

You haven't specced a case...is that intentional?

Assuming this is just a gaming system, then I would make the following changes for a 2K budget:

(unchanged)
Asus RX Radeon 6700 XT Dual 12GB GDDR6 PCI-Express Graphics Card - £389.99
AMD Radeon™ Get The Game Bundle - The Last of Us™ Part I - £0.00

(unchanged)
Asus External Slimline DVD Re-Writer, USB, 8x, Black, Cyberlink Power2Go 7 - White (SDRW-08D2S-U LIT - £29.99

LG 27" 27GQ50F-B 1920x1080 VA 165Hz 1ms FreeSync DyAC Widescreen Gaming Monitor - £179.99

Grand Total: £2,001.83 (delivery charge, £0.00)

You shouldn't need any additional fans or cables with the build above.

I went with a white case because you have a white DVD re-writer, but you can swap the case and AIO for black versions (and save £5).

the way i see it is that storage can always be added on later on with no detriment...it's literally an "add-on" rather than a replacement unless changing the os drive
(and even then the old os drive can then be repurposed to become secondary storage...so no loss)
if you want a better cpu/gpu this will have the hassle of needing to buy a new one, and then selling the current one at a loss
might as well get the best cpu/gpu combo within budget, then storage can be sorted out at a later point in time when the need arises

Yeah, makes sense. I think I was content with the 6700 XT just because the OP is buying a 1080p monitor, so I loaded up on the rest of the build (CPU, storage, PSU), but going 1440p with a 7900 XT is going to be so much nicer to game with.

I'll be honest I thought I had one in my basket but any advise is really appreciated.

Awesome thanks I'll be honest I'm excited to put this together

you know that you can cram in a better system with a 7900XT for a 2k budget?
the 7900XT is an order of magnitude faster than a 6700XT?
Exaggeration aside, the 7900XT is basically double the performance of a 6700XT

It would be a shame if you spent £2k just to settle for a GPU that only rightfully belongs in a £900 rig in 2023
And worse of all, setting for a 1080p monitor
Both the above is criminal for a £2k outlay
