hello i'm wanting to get some things so that my computer can play some of these recent next generation games. I currently own a horrible dell dimension 5100 that does nothing. i've never reallly been able to, but feel i would now like to be able to play some of the latest games around.

my friend has recommended me some things

here is a little list he made me

can anyone tell me any improvements that can be made without altering the price too much. or a better list for similar price?
i'm pretty much trying to stick to around 500 pounds max and want to be able to have it ready by around february.(hopefully i can raise the money slowly over time) I was hoping to keep the hard drive and cd/dvd drive to keep costs down. anyway i'm not really sure what i'm talking about so any help would be appreciated.

thanks
