Evening guys n gals,

Just about to pull the trigger on the following spec but hit a last minute wobble.

Intel 4770
ASUS Maximus VI Hero C2
Kingston XMP Beast Series 32GB 1866MHz DDR3 CL10 (Latencies are slightly slower than I would like but currently going for a decent price)

Asus R9280X - DC2
Fractal Define R4
Hyper 212 Evo
Seasonic S12II -620W
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB (OS drive)
Samsung 840 EVO 500GB (VM drive)
WD RED NAS 24x7 - 3TB (Storage)

I won't be overclocking this machine hence the 4770, I know the board is probably a bit overkill but I do want good sound as I'm not getting a separate card. I would like to maintain good BIOS support. Also like the idea of WOL. The RAM just looks to be a good deal, pretty fast, don't want to go any higher than 1.5v. 32GB for running a VM lab. Asus 280x on the Asus board makes sense to me. EVO has really high IOPs otherwise I may have gone for a 1TB velociraptor for the increased density and cheaper price.

I'm just wondering if anyone sees anything immediately wrong with this combination or if I should be swapping certain part for others?

Peripherals (not much to say about these bits) :-

Logitech G400S (still gets good reviews)
Razer Deathstalker
Pioneer BDR-208DBK
Microlabs FC360
Dell Ultrasharp U2412M
Samsung M3 Slimline 2TB (offline backup drive)
Asus RT-AC66U (supported by DD-WRT)

Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks

Current build has a Gigabyte board and I was very disappointed with the BIOS support, particularly when I tried to max out the RAM on it.

Main reason why I decided to try another brand.

Budget is around £2000 (although my cart is currently showing £2300 with all this in it :D )

Build is a mix.

It's on 24x7 although admittedly not doing much over night.

Gaming machine, primarily FPS
Also running a virtual lab (between 8 and 10 machines)
Runs serviio for streaming to several TVs within the house.

So just a general all rounder to be honest.

What are the VM's doing? I'm a DBA by trade / Data Analysis so use VM's all the time, it maybe best if you have a heavy work load to go Socket 2011 with an i7 or Xeon.
