Need OS?

I think that hp7909 has given the best overall specification so far, I might be tempted to change the monitor for the OcUK Hanns-G one because it has a DVI input(although I don't know if it is better overall) but otherwise I would have picked almost exactly the same. :)

I'd have gone for the 250GB Seagate - tis on This Week Only. Only about a fiver more than the 200GB [before VAT].

hi guys i have got an extra £200 bringing my budget up to £1000 how would i make the computer better?

by the way i havent ordered any parts yet so it can still be edited im gonna order the parts tommorow

Substitute the motherboard for a Gigabyte DS4 and change the ram for the GSkill HZ PC2-6400 if you're going to be overclocking. If not, I'd change the graphics card for an X1900XT 512mb

Edit - it seems you can afford to do all 3 :)

Might even want to consider changing the e6300 for an e6600, more cache, higher stock clockspeed

what would give a bigger performance boost change to the gigabyte ds4 the g skill hz ram and the x1900xt

or just change my processor to e6600
change the board, ram and gfx will give you a bigger performace boost when gaming.. you could always just clock your chip a little to make up the difference. most chips go quite high on stock cooling.

if you dont know how to overlclock, the guide in the overclocking section is excellent and will tell you everything you need to know.

changing the board and RAM will help you if you are going to be overclocking....

changing the graphics card will mean you can game at higher resolutions on ultra settings

if you will do either then save the cash

For the extra £s, (& a must if you go for the X1900XT) you'll want/need a better case & PSU...
  • Lian-Li PC-7 PLUS Black Aluminium Midi-Tower Case (No PSU) (CA-054-LL) £48.99
  • Seasonic S12 500W Silent ATX2.0 Power Supply (CA-001-SS) £67.99
  • Subtotal £116.98
  • VAT £20.48
  • Total £137.46
Oh & definately the 250GB (or even 320GB) Seagate 7200.10 :)
