Hello all

ok I have a 2 part question if any of you tech guys would be kind enough to help I really appreciate it.

first I want to spec and buy a new PC from OC . It will be primarily a gaming machine , Quiet as poss , watercooled and powerful. I dont really have a budget and can change any of the spec so just fire away but obviously looking for the best deal.

so far have come up with I already have some parts in this PC that can be used

QX6700 (still unsure if I need a processor this big)
Abit IN9 32X-MAX WiFi nForce 680
BFG GeForce 8800 GTX OC 768MB (want Directx10) just 1 at the mo I dont think 2 is needed.
Western Digital Raptor X 150GB
(already have 2 hard drives I want to use for storage)
Memory im a bit stuck on this week only has Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator at a good price but I aslo have 2 gig that could be used .
have 2 CD drives already
soundcard I already have XFI
OS Vista ultimate (already bought for this PC but decided against fitting it when i decided on new rig)
Enermax Galaxy 850W please say if you think ill need more i notice the 1000w is out of stock

Case im undecided , I like the cleaner looking cases like the Lan li V2100 also read some good reviews on the water cooled Thermaltake cases like the newer Kandalf and the Tai-Chi .Zalman FC-ZE1 looks a great case but i dont know if its worth it.

Would like it to be a cool and quiet as possible would buy a full water cooling system if need be.

OK 2nd part of my question

Need someone to come and build it ;) im in the East London area , Ill obviously buy all the parts and pay someone for the job(let me know what you charge if we go ahead in PM or perhaps theres a normal rate which ill pay with a drink ontop)
Please reply if your intersted, want someone who is mature and has built many rigs not someone who would just like a challenge . Want it to look good and very tidy.

Ill be buying all parts from Overclockers so hope this post is ok and I hope ive worded it in the right way .

any help greatly appreciated and hope this post is taken the way its meant ?(someone who doesnt have a clue needing some help ;) )

Cheers

Any particular reason for the Abit? The BFG 680 SLi is probably about as good and cheaper. What is your current Ram? If it is suitable then you could just match another 2gb with it and have 4gb although both 4gb and quad-core is probably a bit excessive.

You can't PM but for what it is worth I used to get around £20 and a crate of beer for building PCs a few years back so that might help you to determine a reasonable price, however bear in mind that your request is a bit more involved than a simple PC build. :)

Agreed, water build, make sure they know what they're doing!

Have you asked the OCuk guys if they'll do it for you, if you're getting all the kit from them anyway?

Ahh yes some good points no reason at all mate and that why i posted a bit of expert advice ill change my list I really appreciate that . At the moment I have 2 OCZ sticks but i dont know what type . Opps forgot about the PMing now

Yes i agree its a bit more involved especially with the watercooling I was thinking as the person would have to come to me (to use the parts from my PC plus all gear would be delivered here) I really would like it done here rather than shift everything about . I know its a big ask to spend the day at mine so im trying to offer a good price

£150 Do you think thats fair ?

Thats a good idea I didnt know they did it but I spose it comes back to the doing it all here situation and parts from my PC.

I have a decent rig already FX60 2x 1900 in crossfire ect its shame to go to waste ill sell the parts but good if i can use some . Just time to change it as its near deafning noise , I want to go water and Directx10 .

You might find that standard air cooled parts in a quiet case like a P180 might do the job. A scythe Ninja to cool the CPU shouldn't be too noisy, and the HSF on the 8800 GTX (or two) is quite quiet.

If you mod the case with cooler, quiet fans (Nexus comes to mind) then you'd be surprised how quiet a powerful PC can be.

I recently blew my top with an HTPC that just wouldnt boot (ended up being a duff mobo) so I took it to a pc shop for them to build, which only ended up costing me £25 (bar buying the new mobo) also in London.

Have a look around for PC shops in your area, there are a lot of them around.
I would offer, but I built like 4 in the past few months and I'm sick of them :p

I really appreciate all the replys and so fast , having a good think now .

what do you guys think of the water cooling option and if so which one ?

Melbournes option sounds good to , I was thinking as some of these cases come water cooled now or with the kits that can be bought it could be a little future proof as i do play games quite intensly for 6 hours a day.

Yes course love to, thats the look i want love to have one of those great rigs the guys have on Mod forums.

Black and red or silver and red is what i want.

Ill buy all the gear anyway if no one fancies it ill look in the local paper.

Here is my MSN if anyone wants to take on the job. savage3atnildramdotcodotuk

still any advice is greatly apreciated , was a bit worried abouit posting something a bit out of the norm but everyone has been really helpful Cheers
