Need help customising a pc please.

Alright, so I'm looking to buy a new pc soon, and I know roughly were to start, but need a little help. I'v got a budget of anything up to £1000, and no more.
there are certain things I don't need as already owned, like a HDD, and an optical drive. other than that, I need some parts.

Ideas so far:
- Intel i7 2600 or around there.
- 8gb ram+ 16 would be awsome though.
- GTX 560ti (a graphics card that will run high spec games for a couple of years)

other than that, i need help.

thanks.

Right, I didn't know if you wanted a keyboard, mouse or speakers so I just went for the core components!

i7 is a little too expensive, I would just go for the best gaming processor around which is the i5-2500k.

The 6950 is more powerful than the GTX560Ti.

those ram fit with the gelid?

my take.

PSU for SLI. Although if thinking SLI / Crossfire later, would be better off with a 2GB card. 560ti or 6950, they are neck and neck. Pick which one you think will be best :)

My advice would be if you're only going for one card you don't need to spend anything more than £125 on a Z68 mobo. The features on any of the sub £125 will do the same as one that costs more than that, provided in many cases you don't plan on going sli.

As for the case as well, it's down to personal preference but unless you've actually got money to burn why not spend less on your case, but still get quality. The cooler master CM-690 II for instance. Great all around case.

At £40 the hyper xgenesis 8GB kit is a bargain, two lots of that will still be cheaper than the corsair vengeance but for the sake of a tenner I'd go with the vengeance and i'd change the cooler for an all in one watercooling system, such as the H60. Although many others would recommend the NH-D14 or something similar in which case stick with the hyperx genesis.

As for a 6950, go for a 2GB card just because you can. All about the e-peen.
