Hi,

I've recently traded my gaming PC for a 27" iMac, the trade was heavily in my favour so i couldn't resist and i wasn't using my PC anywhere near enough to justify it (was 4770k based, top quality components and Silverstone FT02 case).

I'd decide now i'd like a M-ITX build purely for gaming, which i'll hook up through my iMac on the occasion i want to. If anyone could spec me one out, it would be massively appreciated. Requires;

- M-ITX case
- 280x type performance level, obviously i'll go Nvidia if recommended.
- I'm not interested in how fast it encodes video etc, i just want something that is good at gaming so don't mind AMD or Intel providing the system will give me some longevity to upgrade the GPU at some point and not be bottlenecked by the CPU.

What's the budget? Do you need an OS/peripherals etc?

No requirement for OS or peripherals

Budget is whatever you guys think is best, i don't want bleeding edge so wouldn't be putting in a 290x or 780Ti in it.. Prefer to go the bump below the top end for a better performance - value ratio.

I don't need anything fancy motherboard wise for OSing, as i don't bother with that. No requirement for on board wifi or a sound card, as i'll use on board sound etc.

This build is purely aimed at gaming, where i'm not sure is what CPU, motherboard and PSU to go for. Don't know whether AMD is best for my needs to Intel. Obviously i don't want my CPU to bottleneck things and want to invest it something that will last.

The only thing i know so far is i want it M-ITX and i'll likely whack a 250-500GB SSD in it, i have no requirement for mass storage as i have a N40L with 12TB in it.

Thanks for that Fulax

Out of interest why have you picked the i5 4440 over say the 4670k.

I'm assuming the 4440 will do me fine for years to come and not be a bottleneck and perhaps the 4670k is well over my needs? Thats generally where I'm not sure on, as i've always just bought the top end CPU so never needed to know before.

I also don't need the wifi on that motherboard, is there anything cheaper you'd recommend that would meet my needs?
