Build or Buy

Im contemplating upgrading my current PC. The thought that seems to be the most difficult to resolve is, should I buy a pre built system like a "Ultima Extreme SLi 8800 GTX", or should I buy the bits and build it myself.

I appreciate that I might save a few quid but I have done a number of builds in the past but I just dont know if I can be bothered with it any more, may just be better to get a pre built system.

"Ultima Extreme SLi 8800 GTX" is a serious indulgance I know, but may be buying the best system you can will (I presume) with full OCUK, back up & support be a good option.

This is not a "Oh why spend that much on a PC" thread, Im just gauging opinions.

You can save about £300 if you build it yourself from a glance

Besides building a PC should be fun!

It *should* be fun... but if your heart is not in it then it may not be.

At least you will get quality components and OC sometimes will do swap-outs if you want a certain components.

And £300 is significantly less than the markup applied by other pre-built suppliers
