My god the sound quality from these from just a laptop is incredible. I may not have to power to fully drive them, but i can just tell the difference from my old Sennheiser HD 515's.

Just placed a HUGE order:

Corsair Obsidian 650D
Corsair Professional Series AX750w
Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache
8GB Mushkin Enhanced Redline Ridgeback 1866mhz
Samsung SH-S222BB/RSMS dvd drive

Windows 7
MSI Lightning Radeon HD 7970 OC 3072MB

Should all be arriving Friday 3rd. Building starts Saturday 4th.

Friday is going to be epic!

Update 3:

So i came home from work and Yodel/HDNL has screwed up the delivery to no surprise, so now i have to wait for my case until Saturday. Not that much of a big issue.

Anyway these arrived today:

Lovely headphones mate, had mine a year now and they are very comfortable and sound great. Selling my HD25-1 ii atm on the MM as it happens because they're too neutral for me.

Updated the OP.

Yodel/HDNL/DHL are a complete and utter joke.

How a company like that can still make profit and keep running.

1 of my deliveries was split into 2 packages, Yodel managed to deliver the 2nd parcel from there Leeds depot, but for some reason my case went to Leeds depot and that wasn't good enough, so they sent it to Goole.......

Needless to say i got a refund on the delivery and have now placed a Saturday guaranteed delivery for another case from another company.

Morons.

be good to see how you do with the seagate 1tb drive, i have the exact same one and im concerned with it tbh, random freezes and it makes some odd noises. maybe i got a duffer

Well i'm not too happy at the moment, it seems to have formatted and lost around 70g in size...... so for a 1TB drive i'm getting 938Gb.

I've made a mistake and got the ST version of the soundcard and not the STX, so i'm sending the ST back and getting it swapped.

Other then that everything is installed and running fine. Going to wait until the soundcard is delivered and installed before i provide my last update.

thats exactly the same as my mate so dont worry, you still have over 900gb of storage but yea that format is crazy, its like it takes a percentage rather than a fixed amount of space, i dont fully understand why/how the format take space up.

also nice psu, im getting the same one to replace my non modular one, im so green at your parts!

Drives are made with commercial byte/kb/mb/gb allocation.
Formats are done to the techanical specification.

Commercial use 1000 bytes=kb. 1000kb=1mb. 1000mb.=1gb. 1000gb =1tb.
Technical specification (powers of 2) is 1024bytes=1kb. 1024kb =1mb. 1024mb =1gb. 1024 gb= 1tb. So with commercial (marketing) format you only have 97.65625% of actual space. By the time this gets to TB level its ~93%.

You can thank a bunch of ***** in marketing (manufacturers not resellers) who couldn't comprehend maths/wanted to make their product appear bigger than it was. They hid this information at the bottom of the page/in a disclaimer which no one ever reads.

Which is why your annoyed.

Haven't updated yet with the new build. I bought the wrong sound card socket and had to send it back.

Spent the extra and bought it from OCUK as there delivery is the best i've ever experienced.

Will be here tomorrow and installed after work. Then i can post the last update.
