Hey guys, just got my pc parts today and installed them into my computer but when i press the power button it starts up shows he motherboard name etc gets to "Starting Windows" bluescreens really fast and then trys to restart. And it repeats the process, i tryed booting in safe mode but still nothing.

Maybe i have something plugged in wrong i dont no

It sounds to me like a Faulty Windows Install. Don't quote me on that though

Its the same windows on the HDD as i always used, i replaced the motherboard cpu and ram. Ram and CPU came installed already as it was a bundle

Anyone have any ideas why all of a sudden my screen doesnt display anything now, light blinks like it does before i turn pc on

Have you checked the cable connections from the graphics card to the monitor?

Yeah, it worked the first two times i tryed to boot but now it just doesnt show anything

i just tryed the onboard DVI port and it worked so my cable at the bk must have slipped unplugged i hope

Ok i did a fresh install of windows and it worked great, now my wireless card doesnt work.. But it is 7 years+ old so could this be that the motherboard can use it?

It should still work probably just need to find the drivers again

but surely without drivers i can still be plugged into it by DVI and get a signal on the screen. Because at the moment i cannot

i dont understand the first 2 boots when i had the problem where windows would not boot it showed the bios etc.. Now no picture just idle mode

or does my graphics card maybe not work in the top slot? Is there something different between them i dont know about. Or is it because i havent installed drivers from the CD because i dont have a CD Drive

I think the wireless card just does not sit right in the slot, it was 2 slits & socket has 1.. Ill try and get a cable to try it tomorrow. Still not sure why the GPU doesnt work

(belkin wireless g plus F5D7001 ver.2001uk <-- wireless card)

Can you post a pic of the case side open showing the bits all installed?

The screen probably doesn't come on for a few reasons, power connector to GFX not connected, BIOS settings incorrect (could reset them to defaults via reset CMOS switch/jumper on mobo).

You should have drivers installed for the GFX card, CD not needed, just go to the maker's site (ATI or nVidia) and download the latest driver package.

Ok ill do a picture in a second, i have a OC'ed bundle so if i reset the cmos ill lose the OC (only got it yesterday). I downloaded the ATI drivers but it would only let me install the install manager no driver

Was it bought from OcUK?

I'd expect they did stability test it but it's not uncommon for OCs to be unstable out the box. You can save BIOS settings into a profile within the BIOS so if you do revert to optimal defaults then you can restore the saved current settings anyway.

You can also save the BIOS config to a USB stick from inside the menus.

Yes it was the Sepctre Ruby Z77 bundle, ohhhhh ok. I have no idea how to do this

There will be a backup BIOS settings to USB in there, I don't know the layout to ASRock mobos BIOS screen but someone else reading this thread has!?

Ok ill have a look around, also in bios it said im at 3.50 ghz when i should be 4.40ghz

I see the OCUK profile but even when i click it and it said its activated/restored it still ses my CPU is at 3.50ghz

When i try and use the GPU at startup all my screen ses is Power Saving Mode and then goes black..

That just means your GFX card isn't set up or working correctly if it's not showing anything on the screen.

I assume you've tried one of the other display outputs to make sure it's not switching to one of them?

Yeah i tryed DVI and HDMI, i searched google for any hints and tips but still nothing and ive tryed a lot

Just can't help but think something is faulty if you've reset the BIOS and it's still playing up and you're not getting a display.

I havent rest the Bios because im unsure how to doit properly

Theres a button next to the motherboard DVI port that says "CLR CMOS", im taking it this is it. Do i press it when the machine is on or off

The 3.5GHz for CPU may well be because it's not clocked up yet, I'd not worry about that until you're in Windows and can use monitoring tools to check actual speed (CPU-Z etc).

Reset the BIOS using the method mentioned earlier, battery out!

Backup the profile if you can find the option in the BIOS, it is there!

Ok i reset CMOS and i get a screen!!!!! Woooooooooooooooooooo

It said

Cmos date/time not setup

f2 to run setup

f1 to continue

What do i do? Im really not sure
