Hi,

New build problem.

We've just build a pc with
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Intel X58
Ati 5870 gfx,
6gb ram

We've turned it on, fans etc work. The power is all plugged in and seems to be working but when we turn on the computer there is no picture. We've tried the cable into another laptop which works so it's this pc. Any assistance?

any beeps from the bios to say it has been through post? thats if you have installed a speaker.....

what do you mean by " We've tried the cable into another laptop which works so it's this pc "

if i see this right you have used the output from the laptop onto your monitor?

Check the memory are in the correct slots, usually go in the 2nd. 4th & 6th slots.
8 Pin cpu power connected and also try a CMOS reset.

We've plugged in a speaker and have no beeps.
Moved the ram into the white slots
Therminator: Yes, we've tried the output on my laptop with no joy.

The Phase LED light's on at red?

on my gigabyte x58 ds4 mainboard, when i switch on all the phase leds light up then go out, might be different to yours though....

also when i said do you have a speaker plugged in....i meant do you have a speaker plugged into the mainboard itself on the front panel header.....

as usualy if you have a fault with ram or vga vard this will beep.....

Just to confirm, the memory is in the white slots, try doing a cmos reset if not already done.

What make / model of memory are you using.

Memory: Patriot Viper 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 12800C8 1600MHz Low Latency Triple Channel (PVT36G1600LLK)

All are in the white slots and the cmos didn't help :S

Yup, it took two power connectors. I'm not sure what to do. We had 7 beeps now it's just a continuous beep. Not sure where to go....might take it to shop to be fixed...
