I completed my first built computer the other day but am having issues with windows. When I install it it gets to the part where it says it is copying files and comes up with the message saying some files are missing. I managed to borrow a copy from my dads work incase I had a damaged cd but it does the same bringing up the same files as missing. I tried skipping but this brings up a fatal error later, I cant see that I managed to get two faulty cds so could it be a hardware issue?

I had a similar problem with my laptop, it says various files are missing or damanged, do you wnt to retry or skip, I retried 3 times and eventually got them to copy. So just keep pressing it, or try clicking skip then copy (worked a few times for me). If you can get into windows I suggest going to my computer, right clicking your main drive (where windows its installed) and going to properties. Then goto tools and click error checking, tick both boxes and restart. Sorted my problems :D

Goodluck!

Thanks but I tried skipping the files and just later on in install it brings up a fatal error and resarts the installation, just gets stuck in a loop

well he said to just try the retry button untill it works, otherwise could be a dodgy drive but doesnt seem like the kinda thing it would do, sounds more like the cd's are not working for whatever reason. sorry i couldnt help more.

Yeah, I clicked retry 3 times before they started to copy, you can click skip and it will bring up a prompt screen saying "Are you sure?" try clicking retry on there, some of the files only copied that way. If not, the first thing that would come into my head is bad CD's, inless theres something horrible still lurking around on your hardrive
