Need some help Sanity Checking this build.

Usage
I will be running multiple VMs and environments at a time so i am looking for a high core count, thread ripper is probably too much for my needs. I am torn between 3900/50x, but leaning toward the 50 to give some more headroom.

I tend to browse the internet, play plex on the host whilst running the VM environment hence the 64gb ram

Gaming
I game a little bit but nothing to heavy and is not the primary focus of this machine. Will be playing GTAV, SCUM, Cities Skylines

Looking at 60-75 FPS range

From doing some research the 5700xt should be able to do 1440p gaming at this refresh rate?

Monitors

I currently have 2x 24inch 75hrts 1080p freesync monitors and will be adding a 75hrts 1440p 34 inch ultra wide.

So looking for some advice:

CPU - Think this is sorted
Motherboard - Not massively clued up so happy to take advice on better boards
Ram - i believe 3600 is the sweet spot for ryzen, are the CA timings good on this ram? good price point?
Power supply - again not massively clued up so happy to take advice on better psu's
Storage - I have a NAS for mechanical storage, looking at a 512 boot drive and 1tb for storage, again speeds and price point happy to take advice
GPU - Is this a good 5700xt?
Fans/case - Case is pretty much set, not expecting a silent PC but are these fans good? any other options to consider?

Happy to take any other points i may have missed

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £2,650.21 (includes shipping: £15.90)

Strix 5700x is worst one !

Gigabyte Gaming OC is best alrounder and Aorus version has 4 year warranty . Then you've got the Devil !

I do have bequiet PSU, but only sponsored and needed silence but not forth the extra £££ . Seasonic or Corsair for less cash and better warranty !

Also just buying 2tb Sabrent Rocket would work out cheaper !

Phanteks p600s has better airflow and is quieter !
Still keep silent wing fans if you like. Air cooler is damn good !

Even £300 Rx 5700 non XT would give you good frame rates .

You don't need the extra thermal compound, and even if you did go that route AS5 hasn't been top dog for a long time.

SSD/NvME options are grossly over priced for what they are, there's cheaper alternatives for much less.

Motherboard is more than required, a Gigabyte Aorus Elite or Asus TUF Gaming would suffice.

The additional fans are unnecessary, or at the least 7 of them are.

If silence isn't your goal beQuiet! isn't where you should be looking, although they do offer solid products and I would recommend the Dark Rock Pro 4 or something similar for the CPU you intend to use.

@orbitalwalsh has mentioned some of the other problems.

Hang fire and someone will get back to you with a good build suggestion for your budget, I'd give it a go myself but I'm back and forth from the PC at the moment.

16 core Ryzen will definitely take care of what ever you're running on background behind the game.

But forget that Arctic Silver overhype.
It hasn't been any top paste in long long time and most cooler makers include same level TIM.
Kryonaut is choise if you want luxury on that.

With two dual rank DIMMs per channel 3600MHz might not run at XMP.
It's certainly going to be demanding on memory controller.

If you want heavy writes enduring drive Phison E12 drives have warranty covering 2½ times the amount of writes over Samsung for cheaper.

Same for half TB drive.

One of the better considered 5700 XT cards is £40 cheaper than Asus.

BeQuiet has ridiculous PSU prices for basic level 5 year warranty.
10 year warranty 80+ Golds are lot cheaper.

And for luxury price fan's have even more pathetic 3 year warranty.
You can get three 10 year warranty fans for the price of one!

TUF makes Strix look good!

have to use @Plec to mention how to get a solid NVMe SSD in that list above for £2700

LOL - we're trying to negotiate your way back in to a certain forum (you've paid your dues) - not create a smuggling ring of competitor contraband, 'openly', via a different patsy.

@tamzzy - keep your brother from another mother in check (@orbitalwalsh - he did a shameless overspend recently.) :D

It's nice quiet times over on these lonely sub threads , it's more peaceful :p
But then, who says I'm not 4k8w526gdhd or what ever user name I created..... Mwhahaha

@tamzzy how shameless ? Not. 2080ti is it ...

Then again I've just signed up to sky ;(

My little dude of a **** bag has kept me up from 3:40am... First tooth oncoming

Lol
£840 build on a £800 budget :/

£40 is going to look small soon with virus sure to increase pricing sooner or later .
Spoke to a water-cooling company last week , quiet confident area in which their factory is in is fine... Not anymore . Lot of tech companies at the start worried more about Chinese New Yr holiday more then the virus lol

It was even justified, too :( [:p]

We're missing the 'orbi factor'! Random, out of left field component choices/builds from someone whose skim read the post because they're an exhausted young Dad. :D

Or, my favourite, popping into a random thread and dropping insider info on new tech and then dropping out just a s quickly - leaving the OP totally bemused (my favourite period was the Zen 2 and x570 pre-launch/rumours)

The forum is missing your enthusiasm and knowledge, Orbi, PM someone they may have softened?..

I know parents/in-laws can be a pain in the butt - but they come in very handy for well needed R&R.

Then again I've just signed up to sky ;(

LOL - when are you going to find time to watch that? Almost bought it for F1 but would have made my one other interest very expensive as would watch sod all else.

That said, i know we have Prime/Netflix and my wife leaves me for dust if we start watching a series - 99% of the time i give up after 2 episodes (Rick and Morty is about all i've managed - brilliant - it's up there with South Park.). The only perk is that she watches True Blood and Games of Thrones (from what i've seen - soft porn with OTT production) and tells me when to look up if there are boobs on the screen - best wife! I think we have NOW TV too - i just set up the remotes and then forget what we've got :/

/begins to wonder if we have got SKY...

Yep - it was going to affect prices sooner or later - on everything. :/

*But, my young daughter occasionally reads my posts (no idea why - /waves at youngest if reading) - so all is good - fluffy pink bunnies, K-Pop and boys suck etc...

all about POWER!!!!!!!!! Although havent heard anything on Intel for a while, new about the 22 Core X299 for a long while but no idea why they never launched it till now ...

Unfortunately live 523 miles away :(

It was the Fact we were Paying BT £7 a month for TV month just to keep it in warranty and then Buy Films on top, so just got Sky bundle with it all in for more or less same pricing . kids should be happy.
was watching MEG this morning on my phone whilst i let the 4 month try to roll and crawl on the floor for an Hour at 4am :D

what is annoying is when peeps down post up their rig , no matter how small, big or whats in it !

Loses out a little bit to PCP site with pic po*n :(

First - realised i wasn't even remotely on topic for the OP (apologies) - so quickly cobbled together a 'budget' version for comparison.

Subbed back in the 3950 and paired it with a solid x570 WiFi. Added the windowless version of the be quiet case as you get the extra dampening on the panel (all helps), plus you don't have to worry about matching internals/cabling.

I added the HUGE Noctua as it is whisper quiet and very effective - but, note, there are far cheaper alternatives (like the be quiet) with marginal performance difference - but i too spend a premium for small % of change with cooling/silence.

Added 3600 memory for no fuss installation - but @orbitalwalsh's memory is cheaper and would tweak to 3600MHz . And added 2 x 1 TB NVMe drives - the money was there and still works out cheaper than the expensive Samungs.

Kept the 850W lazyness - and should stay in passive mode the majority of the time.

I imagine their head office like a Muppet scene where all the characters are in panic with arms flailing about.

I know you don't have a spare bedroom but spring is around the corner and 2 man tents are cheap :D

whilst i let the 4 month try to roll and crawl on the floor for an Hour at 4am :D
It's knackering - but it really is the best time.

Are people not satisfying your fetish with build pics?

You get all that and more on the other forum - PM someone!
