I feel it's time for a new machine but I'd like recommendations from more informed people first.

I've ordered pre-built machines from overclockers before and they work really well but I'm not sure which processor to go with.

They have a X99 range (5820 & 5930)

and they have some skylake ones. (most of the others)

When Skylake was first released the reviews seemed to suggest it was a great processor for mobile / laptops but not amazing for full tower machines and I was hoping some kind soul here could give me their recommendation.

Thanks in advance

Skylake has landed! Are you ready to go

I would welcome 8 Packs input as to which way to go ... X99 or Skylake/Z170
Perhaps he could clarify the benefits of each, the current value for money way to go, and ultimately, the system that will likely have the longest overall beneficial lifespan in respect of room for future upgrade before motherboard chipsets/socket type become end of life.

What do you need the computer for? The consensus is that x99 will be better for multithreading . If the applications you use are multithreaded than is a no brainer go x99.

needs to be more bundles.

hardly any of the x99 bundles.

many people will want just mem mb and 5820k.not ocd price.

get these on. :D
