Building a £200 computer, can anyone recommend me what parts to use?

Hi all, this is my first post so apologies if I'm posting in the wrong forum or inadvertantly breaking any rules. :D

My mum wants to replace her aging computer and has asked me to sort it out, she doesn't have a large budget so I told her it would probably be cheapest if I built a new one for her. Can anybody recommend me what parts to use for the job? I'm a bit out of the loop with hardware at the moment, so just assume I'm completely dumb with this. ;)

I can reuse the hard-drive and DVD drive from the old computer (right?) so you shouldn't need to add that to the price. Also I can reuse things like speakers, monitor, keyboard and mouse.

The parts I think I'll need are:
  • Case (+ PSU)
  • Motherboard
  • RAM
  • Processor
  • Graphics Card (if possible within the budget)

though please tell me if I'm missing something! :) Do I need to buy cooling parts like fans and heatsinks separately? Extra cables? This is my first proper build so feel free to replace any parts with a barebones system if you think it would be a better idea or would be cheaper.

The computer doesn't need to be a beast, and clearly can't be for just £200, but should a computer with this budget be able to play games around the level of World of Warcraft? (I don't play the game myself, just using it as an example!)

Thanks for the help!

Might need to add an OS to that.

the graphics card is in the sale as a clearance line and can easily handle WOW.

fans are included in the case. no extra cables are needed unless you need to replace to your hdd or dvd drive

Just a note on the hard drive...

Bear in mind of IDE or SATA connections, not all motherboards have IDE ports. If the computer is that old.

the motherboard has one ide... are both the hdd and dvd drive ide? if so your need to upgrade one of them to sata. being on a budget id recommend upgrading the dvd drive ~£20 for a new one

That particular barebone dosent have a PCI-E GFX card power connector so you need a 2 molex to 6 pin pci plug to power it

unless ive misread the spec the gfx card just plugs into the pci-e slot and does not need this extra connector......

Yeah theres a single IDE channel and 4 sata ports, but only one sata cable and ide cable are supplied
