I am moving house, and my current desk is annoyingly 10cm too wide for the space where it needs to go. Current desk is 140cm wide by 70cm deep.

This is the current desk (apologies in advance my phone camera really brings out the light from the window!):

I purchased it from Staples around 8 years ago for £70, so it's done alright, it's a cheap veneer thing but I like the simplicity of it and would want to match that in my new desk. The floor mat is very good too, and will easily accomodate 10cm less width.

The gap where the new desk needs to go is 130cm wide, and can go approx 75cm deep (80 may work but 75 would probably be better).

A lot of people suggest buying worktop from Ikea, and putting legs/drawers under it, but doesn't look like you can buy custom sized worktops from Ikea.

This place seems to offer a worktop cutting/delivery service, which looks like it could work.

Could even spring for a proper oak worktop.

Has anyone used them before? or can recommend similar equivalents?

I have no carpentry experience, but can probably drill a few holes and attach some legs. Cable management is a little bit of a priority as well and I'd really like to attach my Ikea Signum cable management tray under it, and mount the 4 plug strip under the worktop as well.

I buit one out of Ikea bits, bought one of the hollow tops and cut it down with a circular saw, then made a wooden insert to glue into the open end, it looks pretty good but you would need a bit of carpentry skill to do it. Screwed some of the drawer units to the underneath and made an extra shelf out of the cut off bit of worktop,
