Hey all.

Next month i am going to have some extra cash to spend
(around £1,200) and i am in need of a new Gaming PC.

Since i work quite a lot i need a little bit of help choosing the Hardware because i haven't had the chance to sit down and look and see whats new and whats best.

I am currently in work :)

Below is a list of items that i will be wanting :D

  • Monitor
  • Tower + Hardware
  • Keyboard
  • Mouse
  • Headset

My spending is around £1,200 but i can take it higher or lower if needed.

I need a top of the range Gaming PC that will be able to run Modern Warfare 2 with out any FPS loss or choke, The same for that ArmA 2 game. :D

If someone could help i would highely appreciate it.

Thanks

Chris

That looks brilliant mate.
Thanks for the help. I am going to email this home now and ill take a look at the stuff for an hour tonight.

The price seems perfect looking at the current hardware.

again a big thanks.

Chris

if you think of going for the ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 i'd think of going for a 24" screen rather than a 22".

or if you want to stick with the 22" have a look at a 4890 or 275gtx.

not seen much about the mouse, depending on how much you game maybe look at a Razer Lachesis or one of the logitech gaming mice.

save yourself some cash and get a standard Q9550 or similar with P35 - 45 board, with some half decent graphics 260 or 280, 4870 or 4890.

An X2 card chews a lot of power, thus you wont need that 750W psu that has been specced for you.

Then spend you money on the things that will matter to you as a gamer.

Ie
sound hardware: sound card, headphones (not cheap nasty headset), seperate mic.

Monitor: 24" is a nice sweet spot that even my old 8800GTS will play most things at full res wilst keeping above 60fps.

keyboard and mouse: both personal preference but buy what you want.

gimme 5 and ill post what I think would be best for yourself

Total 1150 not including a chassis keyboard or mouse (is kinda personal i think)
This will look and sound amazing, as well as including a blu ray writer HD-DVD player etc etc.

note this is not the latest or best but at your price point this is exactly what I would be purchasing.

You will not notice the extra 10fps above 60fps from getting a more expensive card, however you will definatly notice the increase in comfort and sound quality with a sound card and better headset.

Dedicate £900 for tower, £100 for peripherals, and £200 for a nice Monitor. Remember, don't aim too high, as you will be outdated in a few months time.
