Building a gaming pc

Another option would have buy a cheaper CPU use it for a couple of years then get latest gen AM5

ie I have 7700 Ryzen 7. That cost about £160. Use that for a while, then get a 10600 16 core X3D later on

Ok was a good offer enjoy your build.

First boot on AM5 can take up to 15mins for anything to show on screen and may reboot a few times this is because the motherboard is training the memory so be patient.
So it shouldn’t be a problem with the ram not being on the QVL list for the mobo?

Also should I flash latest bios before the buid

it's a b850 board so will run a 9800x3d anyway...you can prob just do build and then flash bios after it's all up and running...you never know you may have an up to date bios in it already.
i wouldn't worry about the ram...testing every stick on every board just get a bit much. did a build with the 32gb version on a tomahawk board a couple months back and all fine (if just general gaming 32gb is enough, I wouldn't spend exctra for more capacity unless you specifically nkow the game you want uses more, andf there's only a couple)

Most ram work regardless and they never test every memory model.

It's best to update the bios before installing windows, I usually wait untill first boot to make sure it does boot and then do it from the bios .

I would do the build first to make sur its all worknig before flashing the BIOs

I had to change the RAM on my build to one on the list of my motherboard. it would boot at stock but crashed in windows when i enabled xmp/expo.
