So started work on my table today. Briefly ran out of black paint but managed to get some more.

Here's the start. At the moment its just balanced between two desks I had planned to build legs but my broken wrist has screwed that up.

Stage 2. Edged it all in black now just need to wait for it to dry and move onto the next stage

I think you'll need to put support underneath it to stop it from sagging. You probably want to do this before you get too far on top!

A while back I was looking at home made desks / tables and saw quiet a few desks that had been made using plumbing pipe.

I think most of it is galvanized steel pipe with various angular fittings.

Might be a bit extravagant for a gaming table, but if you want a solid base, I think that would be your best bet. Probably more expensive than a wooden bodged frame, but more robust and easily dismantled.

So the problem is that you can't really flatten the paper out well because of all the stones that's glued onto it. Its just a cheap attempt at making a table just now until we see how much we use it
