Building a NAS - Spec Me (ish!)

I've decided that its time to build myself a NAS to take care of all my storage needs - I'm sick and tired of having USB external drives lying around, and although there is room in my case, I dont want to clog it up anymore by adding yet another harddrive. While looking at potential solutions to this problem, I came accross the Drobo, which seemed like the perfect idea - however there was no way in hell that I was going to pay that much for one - so I figure that I might well be better off building something of my own.

Unfortunately, I dont have any old PC bits lying around since I threw them all out a few months back during a tidying session, including an Antec 902 that I'm currently kicking myself for getting rid of... but I digress.

Anyway, I've been having a look into it and I've got my eyes on the following kit, if there is anybody out there that has done something similar before and can offer me some critique that would be greatly appreciated.

That doesnt accomplish what I'm looking to do - that is only a short term solution, its 2TB of storage - I'm looking to build something here using RAID 5 and along the lines of 10TB of storage - my fault, I should have made that clear in the first post.

Thanks anyway!

Hmm, looking into it a bit more, I think I've gone massively over the top spec wise, and I might well be better off trying to pick up some old kit off the Members Market instead of shelling out for completely new gear - although the case certainly seems like a good choice, 6 drive slots and great cooling potential.

I picked up an e2160 (and undervolted it to 0.976v!), mATX mobo, 2GB Ram and an antec 380w green PSU for around £100. Bargin :)
